Self-Reflection : The CCR made me realize my mistakes in the process of making the project, although in the bright side, I can do better next time in the next project we are going to do. It also helped with figuring out and knowing new things that I developed over the days that we were making the project. Overall, the CCR helped out in finding and realize my mistakes and to do better next time.

Behind the Scenes

This is our Behind the Scenes for our Bali Tourism project.

Self-Reflection : In total, we spent about 3 days to get the fully finished product for the tourism advert. Even when, it was a rushed project due to some members being unavailable or a problem with the software/hardware yet, we made it in time to finish it.

Storyboard / Script

This is the storyboard / script for our Bali Tourism Ad project

This was the actual storyboard for my groups media ad project.

The storyboard below was supposed to be the one we would've used, however we scrapped it and didn't use it, this is because we pretty much entirely changed our plans when it came to where to shoot, but looking back to it, I think it's because it was too complicated and we didn't have enough time.

Script / Plan ~

song choices (so far)

hot rod - day glow

its only right -wallows (ending fits for end of intro)

cornerstone -arctic monkeys (just the intro tho, more chill)

mad sounds -arctic monkeys (ye

new flesh - current joys

man of war -radiohead (ye

longview -greenday
---------------------------------------

overview. there will be raw clips of handheld footage, as if it were a short found footage film. but half to most will be fixed shots with a more cinematic view.

(camera shot switch sound)=~

blank black

~

shot 1: nature (not decided yet, probably empty rice fields or grass. wide longshot fixed. video)

~

blank black

~

shot 2; intro with music

camera moves to the top. the plan is to use drone

alt: cam tilts from ground towards view, title fades in with bold font.

SCRAP

[i havent decided what the intro clip should be. stuck between empty plain nature or blur to unblur video of actors before or during trip]script 1 (idk yet im supposed to say something here prolly director lines or sumn)(aaand (music starts) action)

~

intro with music as usual

as music goes on, multiple fixed cinematic shots are shown

~

handheld shot

Self-Reflection : Alex and Sagara did the script and storyboard for our project. Overall, the script and the storyboard helped us get ideas or get a headstart into finding the specific scene or theme we're going for so, we don't get into future problems later on with the camera angles and how it will look like.

Editing

Editing Process / Post-Production

I learned how to do Color Grading in Vegas Pro 18 by watching this tutorial from YouTube :

This is the result I got from learning how to color grade by watching the tutorial above :

This is the part where we select the best footages we have caught to the software.

This is the part where we rearrange the footages into the timeline to make it look seamless and more smoother with different transitions. ( I also used sounds made from other creators from YouTube )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=214pJH6qg8U ( iphone notification )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQNVDbgwZvE ( sea waves sound effects )

This is the part where we manipulate the footage to add color grading, effects, subtitles and make it look more cinematic for the audience to enjoy.

This is our other editing process of our media project.

first i aligned the clips together and picked out the song

i went with Can I call you rose by thee sacred souls. I aligned the texts so that it appears on beat with the intro of the music.

for the coloring of the clips, i added a combination of filters and adjusted the brightness, exposure, highlights, temperatures. for around half an hour, i researched in tiktok to find inspiration for color grading to get the atmosphere that i am aiming for. I took inspiration from a video in tiktok.

for the last section of the audio, i wanted to make it muffled. However, it requires capcut pro which i do not want to buy, so i screen recorded the audio, then replaced the original audio with the screen recorded one.

for the font i had to experiment with different fonts and i decided to use the first one as it gives off more of a retro old tv vibe. The decision to put end credits is my idea. although most ads do not have end credits, i want our project to stand out and look further more like a film.

Mr Nick gave us feedback and criticism about how some things in our ad doesnt ad up. so we took his advice and changed the intro as well as the ending. although i did like the sunset clip of the intro, i took it down and replaced it with the black screen. i changed the text to match mr nicks advice and for the ending i removed the credits.

Self-Reflection : Everything went wrong as the color grading was very too yellow or too blue. So, Max did the editing and it turned out good as she used Capcut as her editing software thus, we picked her edited footage as our final result. I'll try a better software as that software was very bad in doing the coloring I wanted and expected it to be so, probably I'll try After Effects and see how that goes in the next project hope, it'll be good.

Classwork : Editing Practice

This blog post contains the work I did in my lesson with my partner on how to successfully edit. My teacher filmed the footage but we edit...
