This is the Classwork blog to show how we learned the technical elements, concepts, media terms and theories! This blog consists of some of my teachers presentations and the work we did in class. This blogpost was made by me.

CAMERA ANGLE AND MOVEMENT (Teacher presentation)
MISE EN SCENE ( Teacher presentation )
|
This video showed about the technical element which was Mise-en-Scene, this showed on how all of the elements in a scene creates a meaning, influences a certain mood, and conveys a theme. Effective mise-en-scene makes scene more immersive and enhances storytelling which lets the audience interpret the different aspects of the narrative through the visual cues.

Cross cut (parallel cut)
Flash back
Flash forward
Jump cut
*Match cut
This was a guide about editing techniques and this showed on how seamless and unnoticeable the edits in films or videos are. The meaning of editing is the process of selecting, arranging, and assembling shots in a specific sequence to craft an impactful story. Types of editing techniques such as, cuts, fades and transitions allows the filmmakers to build tension, make juxtapose scenes for contrast.
SOUND
This video about sound/audio helped us on how to record sound for a film or a project that we are working on, this was really helpful as most of our phones cannot record audio that clearly and the audio that was recorded may be hard to get and it could look off in the video, so knowing how to hide the microphone or phone made it really easy to film and audio would be way better to hear for the audience.
Theories
5 NARRATIVE CODES
- Hermeneutic : a narrative technique where a writer withholds information from the audience to create an enigma, or mystery, that the reader must solve.
- Proairetic : a narrative code that refers to actions that build suspense and interest in a story by implying further action.
- Semantic : refers to the use of specific words, images, sounds, or symbols in media to convey a direct or implied meaning.
- Symbolic : involves elements that carry a deeper, often abstract meaning beyond their literal sense. Symbolic codes represent ideas, emotions, or concepts.
- Cultural : based on shared social and cultural meanings, which may be understood differently depending on the viewer's background. Cultural codes rely on context and cultural knowledge.
Reflection : This blogpost helped me keep in check on the technical elements, concepts, media terms, and theories within the media industry mainly. This was also helped me understand better about all the different meanings. The teacher was good at explaining each terms that we didn't know till now, this will help me in the future for exams or other things in real life about the media industry.
